Get ready to enjoy Korea’s Biggest – Seoul International Fireworks Festival
If you ask me about the best festival in Korea that one shouldn’t be missed, I would say “Seoul Fireworks Festival”. Trust me, I have been living in Korea for 3 years and every year I wait for this festival! This year the festival will take places alongside Hangang River on Saturday, Oct. 6, 2018.
What Seoul Fireworks Festival is About
Every year teams from 2,3 countries show their talent by lighting up thousands of fireworks in the sky!
This year teams from Spain, Canada and Korea will participate and around 100,000 fireworks are expected to be lit, lighting up the night sky.
For the first time ever, people would also be able to enjoy the day time fireworks! Yes right, you are reading it correct! Now you don’t have to wait until 8pm but can enjoy a part of the show around 3pm and head over to your homes.
Some tips to remember:
1) Although Seoul subways are crowded but if its your first time going to the festival, bear in mind, you would see an ocean of people flowing towards ‘Yeouinaru and Yeouido’ Station. The subways will be crowded and these 2 stations are closed for operations 1 hour before the festival. So make your travel arrangements accordingly.
2) Try to be there around 4pm to get a perfect spot to take nice pictures.
3) Its gonna be a bit cold as the area is alongside the Han river. Try to bring a small blanket if you are coming early and wear warm clothes.
4) Don’t forget to enjoy Chimaek (Chicken + Beer) while watching the vivid fireworks show.
5) There will be a DJ party also right after the fireworks are finished. Trust me, its one hell of a fun thing to be at.
